KT: For everyone out there looking to get into deejayin'; how did you first start and what was your 'big break'?
Starting smashing house parties for anyone that wanted a DJ. From 18th to 21st even a few engagements, just played week in week out. Got a big break with the Kick It boys down in Torquay for schoolies one year followed by a residency at Home House & then Eureka Hotel. From there shit just hit the fan "in a good way if that's possible"?
KT: What advice can you give to any aspiring deejays out there that want to make their hobby into a career?
Keep a level head, practice & enjoy every single set you do as if it's your last!
KT: What has been your favourite gig/venue to play at and why?
Future Music Festival & Summadayze are right up there. Anything at Mynt Lounge is always rockin! Of course JUMP @ The Sporting Globe have been absolutely banging too.
KT: Who has been the biggest influence in your career so far?
Australian acts!! Talent out there whether it be interstate, Melbourne or even Geelong we are all going in the right direction. Anyone who knows how to work a crowd has always been someone I have looked to.
To be rubbing shoulders with local guys like Rob Pix, Stevie Mink & James Fava is something really cool cause these guys are the future.
KT: What projects are you working on at the moment?
Really just focusing on the Matt Black brand picking up a lot of solo gigs over the next few months. Looking after all the Love That Music projects in Geelong with a few on the horizon that Geetroit will enjoy! Don't forget JUMP on the 26th of May!
